Museum as Educational ResourceWith more than 100 member schools and service organizations, the Education Department is a rich resource for curriculum based learning. We encourage collaboration to develop new ways of connecting visual observation to classroom objectives. Each new exhibition, part of a diverse schedule that explores ideas about art, culture, and society, affords a unique opportunity for the study of fine art, language arts, social studies, and the sciences.
On KMA visits your students will:
- Explore original art through close study and engaging discussion
- Develop visual, verbal, and critical thinking skills as they learn to “read” art
- Think about how art connects to their lives, to their environment, and to academic subjects such as language arts, social studies, math, and science
- Express ideas through hands-on activities
