Thinking Through Art: Young Artists and Writers Opening

Thinking Through Art: Young Artists and Writers
Opening Sunday, March 1, 12-2pm

This exhibition presents art and writing created by students and inspired by the exhibition Lethal Beauty: Samurai Weapons and Armor. This multi-session, museum-based curriculum culminates in an exhibition on view in the Learning Center and Project Gallery from March 1st through 8th. More than 500 fourth and fifth graders from Increase Miller, Katonah, and Meadow Pond Elementary Schools created Emojis which represent personal symbols as language. Third grade students at The King School designed clothing and accessories that expressed their own personal values. All the students also wrote poems which they will present at literary readings at the KMA this week.

Families are invited to the opening Sunday, March 1, 12-2pm.
