Toadlily Press Presents By Way Of

Sunday, October 4, 6:00 pm

Join the poets and editors of Toadlily Press for the launch reading of BY WAY OF, the fifth book of the Quartet Series, to be held on Sunday October 4 at 6 PM at the Katonah Museum of Art.

BY WAY OF features Diana Alvarez of Northampton, MA; Emily Carr of Quincy, Ill.; Matthew Nienow of Seattle, WA; and Diana Woodcock of Doha, Qatar. Toadlily Press, an independent press in Chappaqua, NY, was founded five years ago. It has published 20 poets and has been awarded several grants from the NY State Council on the Arts. The Quartet Series presents four poets, each represented by their own chapbook, in one handsome, perfect-bound volume. As award-winning poet Ilya Kaminsky has noted, “It is a brilliant idea to put together a festival of four different lyric voices.”

The mission of Toadlily Press is to develop a community of poets and readers through the arrangement of multiple voices in chapbook anthologies, collaborations, panel discussions and workshops.

The Katonah Museum of Art reading will include poets reading their work in BY WAY OF. Of the four distinct voices collected in the book, poet Sean Nevin has written in the foreword that, “You will find a harmony and by way of (the) poems, you will come to recognize yourself.”

A reception and book signing at the Museum will follow the reading, which is funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc. with public funds from The New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.
