Get to know the KMA from the inside out. Each day delves into a new aspect of art-making and museum life with guest artists and adventures. Discussion and creative projects culminate in the KMA’s summer Family Day where the Insiders Club hosts pop-up art stations and gallery activities.

7/17: Woven Wearables: Weave your way through the galleries with curator Elizabeth Rooklidge, uncovering stories behind the artworks in our exhibition and then create your own wearable woven art.

7/18: Textured Play: Led by a professional artist, use a fusion of diverse craft techniques and post-consumer waste products to create visually and conceptually textured artworks.

7/19: Word Weaving: Participate in a nature-inspired “word weaving” project and brainstorm gallery activities for our summer Family Day.

7/20: Teens as Teachers: Team up with members of our Creativity Club and facilitate a variety of fun weaving projects using unexpected, recycled, and found materials.

7/21: Family Day Planning Committee: Develop and test unique weaving projects that will become pop-up stations throughout the Museum on our Sunday, July 23rd Family Day.
