Birds have served as a source of inspiration for makers since ancient times. Their drive to gather, assemble and create resembles the artist’s impulses of selection, accumulation and making. The Katonah Museum of Art’s exhibition, The Nest, will be the springboard for this workshop.

Writers and artists are invited to spend an afternoon working with exhibition artist Shiela Hale and the Museum’s writer in residence Pamela Hart. Participants will look at the artworks, explore visual and written note-taking strategies, and consider other ways of accumulation and selection as we generate new work. We’ll begin in the Museum galleries and then travel to Hale’s nearby Katonah studio.

For more information and to register, please call the Museum at 914-232-9555.
