Day trip: Kandinsky, Klimt, and Klee

Monday, November 9, 10:45 am – 3:30 pm Meet at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (5th Avenue & 89th Street) at 10:45 am for a private tour of the Kandinsky exhibition. The 100 paintings on view, featuring Vasily Kandinsky’s beloved horse and rider series and seascapes, investigate the artist’s formal and conceptual contributions to 20th-century abstraction. After lunch on your own, we’ll meet again at 2:15 pm at the Neue Galerie (5th Avenue and 86th Street) for a tour of the exhibition From Klimt to Klee: Masterworks from the Serge Sabarsky Collection. Sabarsky, with cosmetics magnate Ronald S. Lauder, founded the Neue Galerie based on their shared passion for German and Austrian Expressionist art.
