Meet at 10:45 pmMeet at the world famous Apollo Theater for a private tour and an opportunity to see where legends Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday once performed. This celebrated venue also launched the careers of such icons as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and James Brown, and continues to maintain its position as the nation’s most popular arena for African-American performers. After lunch in the neighborhood, the group will convene at the Studio Museum of Harlem for a tour of the exhibition Works from the Permanent Collection, followed by a discussion with the assistant curator.
