“Here and There” Animation Workshops
Saturdays, 10:00 am – 3:30 pm
Day-long immersion workshops begin at the KMA where students develop stories and characters. After lunch and a quick train ride, participants bring their art to life at the JBFC’s Media Arts Lab.
 
October 20, Creature Creation, grades 2 – 5
Design a unique character with Ice Age: Continental Drift art director Nash Dunnigan at the Museum, then animate your creation in a stop-action sequence at the Media Arts Lab.

November 17, Making Moves, grades 9 – 12
With pencil, paper, and the expertise of Blue Sky story artist Jim Kammerud, create a storyboard sequence at the Museum, then bring it to life at the Media Arts Lab.

December 8, Designing Worlds, grades 6 – 8
Under the direction of Blue Sky set designer John Townley, plan the details of a movie set at the Museum, then infuse the scene with light and life at the Media Arts Lab.

Participants must commit to the entire day. A KMA or JBFC staff person will accompany students on the train from Katonah to Pleasantville. Please bring lunch. Prepaid reservations required.
