Movies and Mojitos

Movies and Mojitos
Thursday, July 22, 7:30 pm (Rain date: July 23rd)

Join the Museum for an evening of Movies & Mojitos, where guests pack a picnic dinner and blanket to enjoy along with Cuban hors d'oeuvres and a thirst-quenching Mojito before settling in to watch a movie in the Sculpture Garden. The galleries featuring the Cuba Avant-Garde exhibition will also be open, with an optional 8pm docent tour, followed by the films at 9pm.

Boxers + Ballerinas
A classically trained ballerina waits for an overseas dance tour. Another one helps at her mother's penniless dance company. A boxer wins 120 fights and world respect as a champion. Another one lives with his mother and is 3-1, waiting to collect enough money to fight again. Which ballerina and which boxer live in Cuba? Which two live in Miami? The revelations are surprising in this vivid, offbeat documentary that shows Cuba's youth to be its greatest resource and sometimes, its greatest export.

Charles T. Johnstone, the film's Executive Producer, will give a brief introduction.

Any male guests who wear a guayabera (Cuban shirt available at Kelloggs & Lawrence in downtown Katonah for only $20—a limited offer made in conjunction with the KMA exhibition) to a KMA Movies& Mojitos event will be eligible for a special Cuban-themed raffle prize at each of these parties.
