Let the KMA be your child’s personal art studio! This recurring art program is a staple for local parents and care givers searching for something special to entertain their children when school is out. Each day a teaching artist will lead a creative art project, inspired by the exhibitions on view, guaranteed to challenge and excite.

Monday, December 26: Paper Architecture
Using colorful papers, create geometric collages representing NYC architecture and buildings.

Tuesday, December 27: Collagraph Printing
Come experiment with collagraph printing - using cardboard and different textured papers arranged like a city scene then printed with colored inks.

Wednesday, December 28: 3-D Buildings
Create and decorate your own 3-Dimensional NYC buildings – skyscrapers, landmark buildings, apartment houses, shops and more!

Thursday, December 29: Impressionist Oil Pastel
Inspired by the many impressionist images of NYC in our galleries, children will use oil pastels to create their own impressionist pictures.

Friday, December 30: NYC transportation
Boats, Taxis, Subways, and Cars will be the theme of art activities throughout the day

Monday, January 16: Pen, Ink, and Watercolor Experiments
Create dynamic works of art using black pen and ink along with watercolor paints and your imagination!


Children under age 6 participate with an adult; 7 and older, adults must remain at the Museum. Adults pay regular Museum admission, participating children: $3 members, $6 non-members.
