Mapping a Sense of Place: From the School Yard to NYC Monuments
Tuesday, November 9, 4:00 -6:00 pm

Lewisboro librarian Diane Moller and fourth-grade teachers Gwen Kopeinig and Shari Robinson will chart successful ways to enhance students’ sense of place through creative thinking, sketching, and writing lessons that connect their classroom, schoolyard, and the Museum. Increase Miller fifth-grade teacher Sheila Navarra and art teacher Wendy Alvarez, along with KMA Writer-in-Residence Pam Hart, will share their students’ interdisciplinary adventure, combining NYC research, clay art, and poetry. Art and classroom teachers will come away energized with lesson possibilities.
