Educators are given a special tour of the new exhibitions, Tenacity & Resilience: The Art of Jerry Pinkney and A Sense of Community: Celebrating Jerry Pinkney's Legacy. Explore how the artists convey powerful messages related to the civil rights movement in America, the experiences of black Americans, and the retelling of well-known folk tales. Illustrator Eric Velasquez, whose work is featured in the exhibition, joins us as a special guest to demonstrate his watercolor process and discuss the making of the book She Was the First! The Trailblazing Life of Shirley Chisholm.
