YOUNG ARTISTS: A High School Art Exhibition

In the Main GalleriesThis annual exhibition of high school seniors' artwork from member schools gives aspiring artists an opportunity to participate in all aspects of a museum exhibition. With the guidance of professionals, the young artists organize, publicize, curate, and mount their own exhibition. Young Artists 2018
January 21 – February 11, 2018
Opening Reception Sunday, January 21, 3 - 5pm

Young Artists will run for three weeks in 2018! Member high schools are invited to participate in this annual exhibition program that showcases the extraordinary talents of senior students. Mark your calendars: Poster Workshop: M. 11/13; Artwork drop off dates: F. 1/12 and T. 1/16.


NEW! KMA Teen Council

KMA is seeking motivated, arts-interested HS students to join its new Teen Council program.  Students meet weekly to take an insider role in Museum program development, audience engagement strategies, and artistic practice, culminating in events which they produce for their peers.  Contact us for information and application.

Young Artists Market
Sunday, February 11, 12-4 pm. FREE.

Calling all high-school artists, crafters, and makers! January 26 is the deadline to apply for a vendor spot at the 2nd annual Young Artists Market. Hosted by the KMA's Teen Council, this boutique features teen-made items from ceramics and jewelry to artwork and crafts. There is no entry fee and KMA takes no commission - all revenue goes directly to the artists. More information and teen vendor application by 1/26/18:

To prepare for this sales event, attend the workshop, Selling Your Art 101 on Thursday, January 11, 4-6 pm. Topics include artist statements, pricing, display techniques, and tips for building customer relationships. Free. Registration required:



The KMA provides supervised Museum internships designed collaboratively to meet the requirements for school credit.  Students also have the opportunity to volunteer for community service credit.  For information, contact the Education Department, 914-232-9555, ext. 2985.
