Craft & Connect: Layered Memories

Featured Learning Center artist Sonja John leads this installment of Craft & Connect, inviting adults to explore new artistic techniques in a relaxed social setting. Participants will create tunnel books using cut forms, translucency, and layering to express memories of time and place. 

Open to all levels. Private gallery access, wine and snacks, and all materials are included. Arrive early to view the current exhibition.

About the Artist:
Sonja John received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2017. John was awarded the ChaNorth Artist Residency Young Artist Fellowship Award, the General Fellowship residency award for The Studios at MASS MoCA and recently completed a residency with the Lower Manhattan Cultural Center’s Arts Center. She is currently a Bronx Council on the Arts, Artist-in-Residence with Longwood on Governors Island. John’s work has been exhibited at the Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art & Storytelling, EFA Project Space, Swale House, and Wave Hill, and she has been featured in n+1 magazine and Them, among other publications.
